About the Community School of the Arts
Studies show that youth who have the benefit of studying the arts have an advantage in cognitive, social and emotional development. We at the Goshen College Community School of the Arts wish to partner with families to encourage this growth among youth of our community.
New or deeper learnings in any area stretch our minds, and in the arts this intelligence incorporates both logic and affective experience. It is not only youth who grow through the arts -- it is all of us! For example, adults who study music will expand their memory skills and vocabulary, while also discovering a release for creative expression.
Community School of the Arts strives to see all students expand their skills and experience feelings of accomplishment and self-confidence. The mentoring relationships afforded by caring instructors and the social interaction of group lessons, MEGA classes and joint performance opportunities promote the well-being of all who participate.
