Goshen College Music Department
The music department at Goshen College is dedicated to cultivating excellence in musical performance, pedagogy, and scholarship. Embracing the goal of preparing music educators for 21st century classroom, GC’s music department provides many hands on opportunities for students. Goshen College music department ensembles regularly perform in the Music Center and off-campus. They provide opportunities for both music majors and nonmajors to participate in department-sponsored ensembles. View video clips of GC’s choirs, orchestra and Lavender Jazz to see them in action.

- Lavender Jazz, Goshen College's big band, performs classic jazz standards and styles such as swing, blues, waltz, mambo, cha cha and funk. Lavender Jazz performs in a variety of settings and makes recruiting trips throughout the year.
- Chamber Choir
and Chorale repertoire
includes accompanied and a
cappella music from early to contemporary periods. Both groups present
programs on and off campus, including an annual tour. During spring semesters,
Men's Chorus and Women's World Music Choir significantly expand the choral
offerings.
- The Goshen
College Orchestra performs symphonic and chamber repertory
in several annual concerts, in biennial opera/musical productions,
and accompanies the winners of the annual concerto-aria contest.
Occasional tours provide the orchestra further opportunities
for performance.
