Central Recording
Central Recording is a state-of-the-art facility capable of recording 16 separate tracks from each of our performance and rehearsal venues. Using digital editing technology, our recording engineer produces high quality recordings that can be balance-adjusted in the post-production phase according to the customer’s specifications. If necessary the track numbers can be increased to 20 tracks for Rieth Recital Hall, Brembeck Instrumental Hall and Zook Choral Hall, and to a total of 28 tracks for Sauder Concert Hall.
Recording services in the Music Center are available to groups and individuals by arrangement with our recording engineer. For off-site professional level recordings, the Music Center’s recording studio equipment also includes a portable 24-track hard disc recorder.
Program is recorded on two TASCAM DA 78 digital 8-track tape machines as well as to a ProTools (HD 192) equipped G4 PowerMac. Other equipment includes four BENCHMARK MPS-400 (4 channel) mic preamps, an APHEX eight channel digital mic preamp and a variety of other recording and source gear.
