MIDI & Computer Labs
The Midi Lab is equipped with state-of-the-art electronic keyboard and workstation allowing the serious composer to enter, sequence and play back his/her music with realistic orchestral and non-traditional digital sounds. MIDI, or Musical Instrument Digital Interface, enables communication between computers and musical instruments such as a synthesizer. This room is available to all Goshen College students studying music composition.
The Midi Room computer is fully networked, complete with Finale music notation software for composing and editing music. Kurzweil K2600 keyboard and Roland DS-50A 24-bit powered monitor speakers complete the available equipment. The Kurzweil K2600 keyboard enables musicians to sequence and record, using both built-in realistic instrumental samples as well as customized sounds.

- Adjustable Input, Low Frequency, and High Frequency levels
The Music Center’s Computer Lab is open to all students. It contains six workstations with fully networked computers, Finale music notation software, headphones, and Roland RS5 synthesizers with weighted keys.
