About Sponsorship
The benefits of bringing artists of the caliber of Del McCoury or the Tokyo String Quartet are measured in a community’s increased exposure to the arts. Studies suggest that strengthened community identity, increased social cohesion, improved well-being of citizens and economic benefits are among the positive effects encouraged by the arts. Experiencing the arts with others contributes to the Music Center’s mission of "enhanced community and enriched lives.”
The cost of bringing top quality artists to Elkhart County is more than ticket sales alone can provide. The generous donations of persons who wish to see the arts flourish in our community enable us to continue this tradition of excellence.
Our sponsors also help us provide instruction for students in Goshen College’s Community School of the Arts. Studies indicate that there are many advantages afforded to youth who study music—that it is a catalyst for aspects of cognitive, social and emotional development. When sponsors view their donations as an investment in youth, they may be assured that the payback to society is substantial. Of the 350 students who study music at the Community School of the Arts, one in seven relies on financial aid to participate. The Music Center is committed to finding ways for any deserving student to study music. It is only with the help of generous and committed donors that this goal is possible.
